Ideas for other tools and events

When you want to continue looking for resources online, looking for the best of the best books as they are listed on award pages through YALSA or librarian posts on your library website can help. For instance, you can look at Alex Award winners here and hit “control+F,” “Ctrl-F” or “command” and “f” to search the page for keywords related to your stress to find helpful books.

In addition to public libraries, which have books and events to help with stress management, you can see what your school librarian or school library has to offer!

When dealing with stress, it is important to know that you are not alone and that you have access to resources and tools to deal with it. Reaching out to librarians is a great way to start, but you can also search a library catalog, the Internet, and the App store for more ideas. You can find books, events, websites, and apps to help manage stress. If you do not see what you are looking for or you have ideas of your own, just ask! At your library, you can suggest events and request books. If there isn't already groups to have conversations about stress-related topics or groups for gaming and other fun stress-relieving activities, you may be able to help start one!
