Good websites

This is a list of web resources for you as you begin your own search for information on how to manage your stress. Some of them are practical examples of tools to use right away, such as Calm, while others are some of the best websites on stress management that will give you a place to start your own research and find what works for you.

Calm is a website and an app (plus a twitter account!) that has many options for relaxing videos. This is easy to pull up and have in the background while working on homework, and it can be good to do as an intentional break from activities as well. The website is available here: https://www.calm.com/

Created by a young doctor, this website has practical tools like guided meditation audio, in addition to its own compilation of apps and other resources. Check it out here: http://mindfulnessforteens.com/resources/

This blog was developed by a teen with anxiety and has resources and stories: http://anxietyinteens.org/

Stressed Teens is a program that can be completed online, and their website also has resources for reducing stress in your life. You can learn more about this option here: www.stressedteens.com

You can also check out professional websites like the American Psychological Association, which has this great article, or search for websites of authors who write books on managing stress, as they often give you other resources as well, such as author Kenneth Ginsburg’s resource “Creating Your Personal Stress Management Plan,” available here.

If you feel stress related to too much or too little sleep, you can use tools to help find your sleep cycle and get a better amount of sleep. This can especially help plan when to go to bed if you have to wake up really early for school. One website option is http://sleepyti.me/ or you can search online or in the app store for “sleep cycle” or “relaxing alarm clocks.”
